According to reports from Arab News and the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the initiative is organized by Saudi Arabia’s Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority (Monsha’at) and aims to highlight the growing role of social entrepreneurship in supporting sustainable economic development and empowering small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The event will be held across Monsha’at SME Support Centers in Riyadh, Madinah, Jeddah, Al-Khobar, and Aseer. More than 44 organizations from the public, private, and non-profit sectors are expected to participate. The program includes over eight keynote sessions, 50 entrepreneurial networking meetings, advisory consultations, and exhibition activities designed to connect entrepreneurs with funding, expertise, and market opportunities.
The significance of the event extends beyond entrepreneurship promotion. Social enterprises are increasingly viewed as an important mechanism for addressing community challenges while generating sustainable commercial value.
By encouraging innovation in areas such as education, healthcare, sustainability, community services, and digital inclusion, Saudi Arabia aims to strengthen the private sector’s contribution to economic diversification under Vision 2030. [2]
Monsha’at has identified SME development as a key driver of future economic growth, with the Kingdom targeting an increase in SME contribution to GDP from approximately 20% at the start of Vision 2030 to 35% by the end of the decade.
What's more, recent international rankings indicate that Saudi Arabia’s entrepreneurship environment is gaining global recognition. The Kingdom ranked first among high-income economies in entrepreneurial finance and third globally in the National Entrepreneurship Context Index (NECI) according to the latest Global Entrepreneurship Monitor report, reflecting improved access to funding and a more supportive business environment. For Chinese enterprises, the event highlights several emerging cooperation opportunities that are aligned with Vision 2030. These include digital platforms for SMEs, fintech and payment solutions, e-commerce infrastructure, educational technology, healthcare innovation, sustainable urban development, and smart manufacturing.
Saudi Arabia’s entrepreneurship strategy is evolving from startup creation toward ecosystem building. Through initiatives such as Entrepreneurship Week, Monsha’at is creating stronger links between investors, innovators, social enterprises, and government institutions, helping establish the Kingdom as a leading entrepreneurship hub in the Middle East.
